Viel Glück / Good Luck (for Create a Smile Guest DT spot)

Dienstag, 5. Januar 2016

Hallo :)

Hello :)
and Happy New Year! Did you have a wonderful new year's eve? I celebrated with some friends and it was a great evening. But after all this festiveness lately daily routine kicked in quite fast. At least for me. But I managed to make some cards, something non christmas. And one of those cards is this card for Create a Smile. I read they are searching for a Guest DT for February and I thought to give it a try. If you follow my blog, you have noticed that I used Create a Smile products very often in my christmas cards and also before that. I love their german sentiments, especially the huge "Glück" (luck) and the big "Danke" (thanks). It's quite hard to get good german sentiment stamps and they have a good price too. And their critters are super cute. :)

For this card I embossed the cloverleafs of the "Glück ist"-stamp set with some clear embossing powder onto watercolor paper and colored the background with my Gansai Tambi watercolors. I die cut a banner (it's one of their dies) and adhered it to the background. On top I stamped the sentiment and embossed it with copper embossing powder. It's not totally even, because the background has some structure to it, but it's okay and comes with this technique. The sentiment reads "good luck". I colored this cute pig with copics and drew a new tail with a copic fine liner. I didn't like the look of the tail after I fussy cut it. And so it looks a bit more three dimensional.
I completed this card with some washi tape and enamel dots and chevrons and that's it. :)

Do you want to give it a try too to become the guest designer for Create a Smile? Just hop on over to their blog. They also have free digital stamps there which you can use to create your project! Good Luck! :)
